Hawker Foundation

In December we sponsored Hawker Street Market's second Izakaya Night at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix. It was one of those evenings that reminded us why showing up for community matters, not just in the work we do, but in how we live beyond it.

For those unfamiliar, "izakaya" loosely translates to "stay sake shop" in Japanese. Think drinking and snacking taverns where people gather, share stories, and build real connection over good food and flowing drinks. Hawker Street Market brought that spirit to Phoenix and transformed Heritage Square into the kind of alleyway you'd stumble into in Japan, complete with traditional street foods and a crowd that genuinely wanted to be there. It was special.

The event supported Hawker Foundation, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to showcasing and supporting local minority food and retail vendors across Arizona. Simple, important work: creating space and visibility for vendors who might not otherwise have it.

We partnered with this event because it reflects how we think about building anything worthwhile. With intention, with community, and with a genuine interest in who gets a seat at the table. The strongest systems, whether in hiring or in local economies, aren't built by accident. They're shaped by people who care enough to make room for others.

If you're looking for ways to support local community work right here in PHX, Hawker Foundation is worth your attention.
