Seen In: The Talent 100
Aurora Talent Lab is proud to announce that Meghann Hanvey, Founder and Talent Strategist, has been named to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, an annual recognition honoring exceptional leaders and practitioners shaping the future of talent acquisition and recruiting.
Meghann has built her career around one of the most challenging moments in a company’s growth: the transition from a small team into a rapidly scaling organization.
Across companies including Sprinklr, Clari, Classy.org, and Bobbie, Meghann repeatedly joined organizations with fewer than 100 employees and helped support them as they grew toward significantly larger scale. That experience has given her a deep understanding of how recruiting teams, processes, and talent strategies need to evolve as businesses grow.
Today, through Aurora Talent Lab, Meghann works with organizations to improve how they hire and to help recruiting teams move beyond transactional execution toward more strategic partnership with the business.
Her career in talent began shortly after graduating in 2009, when she joined a small biotechnology company in San Diego as an HR assistant. As the organization grew, Meghann gradually became more involved in recruiting and discovered that talent acquisition was where she wanted to focus her career.
She was particularly drawn to growth stage environments, where recruiting teams have an opportunity to build systems and processes rather than simply inherit them.
That builder mentality has remained central to Meghann’s approach.
Throughout her career, she has been influenced by leaders who trusted her to take ownership early, giving her the freedom to make decisions, build programs, and learn through experience. She brings that same philosophy to her own work, emphasizing trust, autonomy, and giving talented people room to do what they do best.
Meghann also brings a thoughtful approach to artificial intelligence.
Rather than adopting technology simply because it is new, she evaluates AI tools against two questions: does this make the work more efficient, and does it make the work more thoughtful?
She has used AI to improve job descriptions by considering how language may be interpreted by candidates from different backgrounds and perspectives, refine recruiting analytics and reporting, and challenge processes that may have remained unchanged simply because they have always been done a certain way.
For Meghann, the goal is not automation for its own sake. It is using technology to create more equitable, intentional, and effective recruiting practices.
Her broader philosophy on talent acquisition is equally focused on context.
Meghann believes recruiters do their best work when they understand not only which roles need to be filled, but why those roles matter to the business.
She encourages organizations to give recruiting teams greater visibility into company strategy, growth plans, leadership discussions, and business priorities so recruiters can understand how each hire contributes to a broader objective.
“That big picture view is just so crucial to getting out of that transactional recruiting and going into strategic recruiting,” Meghann said.
When recruiters understand the business, Meghann believes they can hire with greater intention, identify stronger long term fits, and become genuine strategic partners rather than simply managing requisitions.
Her recognition as a Talent 100 honoree reflects the builder mindset, strategic perspective, and commitment to thoughtful recruiting that she has brought to organizations throughout her career.
Meghann joins a distinguished community of talent leaders recognized for their impact on their organizations and their influence on the future of how companies attract and hire talent.
